and post Holi party celebrations.
PRE-HOLI PARTY
Preparing your home for the Holi party is a big task. No
matter how hard you make the rules of ‘No colors in the house’, the mess is
always left behind. Few simple tips can make your Holi party unforgettable one.
Tip 1: Keep your expensive show pieces inside the cupboard
and cover your furniture with the old bed sheets. This will save them from
getting ruined by the colors and the water.
Tip 2: Choose organic colors on Holi. This time try organic
gulaals to give boon to your skin and environment.
Tip 3: When choosing menu for the Holi party, try and keep a
lot of bite snacks. This is really good and never creates hindrance while you
are enjoying the colors.
Tip 4: Choose the party space very wisely. The chosen one
must be a big open space like terrace, backyard or your garden. Keep your
snacks and beverages right there in enough quantity, so that every time you
need not run inside your home. This helps in keeping the home clean as well.
Tip 5: You can decorate your home with flowers for that
fresh look and fragrance. In case you have planned an extended Holi party then
plan for your after party meals in advance.
POST-HOLI PARTY
Cleaning home after Holi party is the biggest challenge of
all. Holi leaves every one with overdose of joys, fun and yes you know what…
Tip 1: Broom it. This should be the first step when you
start cleaning the home. Broom away the dry colors. If cleaned with the water
the dry color will end up in a paste creating a strong stain.
Tip 2: For those stubborn stains use paste of baking soda
and water. Leave the paste on the stain for some time and once dried just wipe
off with a wet sponge. The chemical reaction will help you clean the stain.
Tip 3: If you have got the stain on the furniture you can
use acetone or nail polish remover to clean it.
Tip 4: To remove the stains from your marble flooring use liquid
bleach. But keep in mind not to use it in case your floor is colored or
laminated as the bleach soaks the color.
Tip 5: The choice of crockery is very important on this day.
Avoid using Melamine crockery for the occasion. Stick to disposable crockery to
make the handling hassle free.
We hope that our tips would have helped you and would make
you a worry-free host for the Holi party this year.
